The learner will:
- Use who, what, where, when, why, and how to ask questions about key details in text
- Answer questions to demonstrate understanding of key details in text
Supportive Practices
The adult will:
- Select appropriate multi-paragraph informational text (e.g. magazines, websites, books)
- Assist students in selecting age and ability-appropriate non-fiction materials to read
- Provide time and opportunities to practice asking and answering questions about an informational text
- Model asking and answering who, what, where, when, why, and how questions
- Use anchor charts for question starting words (who, what, where, when, why, how)
